Don’t
Dump PIP: The problems with no-fault auto insurance can be addressed
Orlando Sentinel, August 24, 2007
“PIP’s death would likely increase the number of victims who don’t carry health insurance. It would add more costs and procedural headaches because of the need to determine fault. And it would create an upside-down system in which protection against damage to automobiles is required, but not protection that helps people who’ve been harmed in automobile accidents.”

PIP offers auto accident victims healthcare services and timely
coverage
Florida policymakers need to determine ways to increase health coverage for
citizens, not decrease it.
Know the facts: If lawmakers allow PIP to sunset and only require Property Damage, it would be a national anomaly – the only state that requires drivers to protect property but not people. As it stands now, 47 other states require drivers to carry minimum coverage for both medical protection and property damage. Only New Hampshire and Wisconsin have no minimum auto coverage requirements for drivers.
Governor Crist, Senate President Pruitt, House Speaker Rubio, please protect all Floridians by including PIP in the September Special Session.
